About

I am an evolutionary ecologist, with a keen interest in how birds respond to climate change. My main research focus has been on how birds respond morphologically to rising temperatures, such as through increasing bill size and decreasing body size. However, I also study aspects of population dynamics, such as how breeding success is influenced by climate. Most recently, I have become interested in how global change processes can impact migration behaviour, and the flow-on effects this has on the risk of disease incursion (notably avian influenza) into Australia.
